The 2015 Akwaaba African Travel Market opened Sunday at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos with large turnout of guests.
The opening ceremony which has in attendance Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu. the Rwandan envoy to Nigeria, Mr. Stainslas Kamanz, the chairman of Remlords Car HIre Services and president of National Association of Tour Operators, Nkereuwem Onung and the President of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies, NANTA, Alhaji Aminu Agoha among others lived up to its billings.
The three-day is feating exhibitors from across Africa like Kenya Tourism Board, Rwanda Development Board, Rwandair, Air Maroc, Golden Tulip Hotel, First Business Logistics, Radisson Blu, Sierra leone, Others include Ethiopian Airlines, Whispering Palms, Travelstart, South African Tourism South African Airways, among others.
The expo kicked off with a Wedding Show sponsored by Dubai Tourism in partnership with Emirates which featured over 10 countries showcasing amazing Wedding & Honeymoon destinations, Weekend Getaways and Spa Sanctuaries.

Appologising on this year’s smaller space, Ikechi Uko said this year’s event is held in the same venue as last year’s event which is smaller than the usual venue as most exhibitors had to be dropped.
He added that enough space is being provided for the 2016 edition.
He disclosed that the 2016 signup forms availablto enable more exhibitors’ signup early and prevent last minute delays as many exhibitors could not be accommodated this year.
Meanwhile, Dubai Tourism made a bold statement with their remarkable appearance at the show.
