Panic as Med-View aircraft makes air return
Passengers aboard a Med-View aircraft on Lagos- Abuja route Thursday panicked when the aircraft made an air return to the Murtala Muhammed Airport MMA2.
Nigerian Pilot gathered that the Pilot of the aircraft has to make the air return when the plane developed a technical fault while climbing to an altitude of about 8000 feet above sea level.
It was learnt that immediately the aircraft landed, another one was made available to ferry the passengers to Abuja.
When contacted on the incident, the acting general manager, Public Relations, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Sam Adurogboye said he has no details on the incident.
Mr. Adurogboye explained that air return is a normal occurrence in the aviation industry as it depicts a situation when a pilot discover a fault and return to base to fix it.
In his words, “It is a normal thing; the pilot took off and discovered a fault and returned to the airport to fix it. There is really no big deal about it.”
