The United States Consular-General Tuesday hosted the nominees of the
Future Awards Africa (TFAA) to an invitation-only reception in Lagos.
This is following the unveiling of 56 nominees chosen from different parts of Africa on Sunday, November 22, 2015 on Ebony Life TV and Channels TV.
The nominees’ reception is a lead up to the awards event holding on
December 6, 2015 where 11 winners would be announced.
The Future Awards is Africa celebrating 10 years of spotlighting individuals across Africa who
are impacting and inspiring their community and Africa.

Guests at the event include the U.S Consular-General, John Bray, Lampe
Omoyele, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Chimaobi Nwaokoma, Bovi, Toyin Lawani, VJ
Adams, Kaylah, Lala Akindoju, Lamide Akintobi, Latasha Ngwube,
Olorisupergal, Kathleen Ndongbo, Toni Kan, Chigirl, Uche Nnaji, Lami
Philips and others.

The event was anchored by Sika Osei with performance from Simi who sang
“Jamb question”.

The Future Awards Africa has been called the ‘Nobel Prize for Young
Africans’, and the ‘most important youth awards’ by Forbes. It is a set
of prizes given annually to celebrate and accelerate innovation,
creativity and enterprise amongst young Africans aged 18 – 31. It has
produced over 150 winners and over 1550 nominees since its first edition
in 2006.

It is presented in conjunction with The Future Project, which has a
mandate to build empowered citizens across Africa, through (inclusive)
enterprise and (active) citizenship. This focus on Human Capital
Development is informed by our value proposition: Africa’s growth needs
a generation of young people who are gainfully employed and able to
demand and secure better leadership.
