Group urges President Buhari to sack Kachikwu
The Save Nigeria Anti Corruption Coalition has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack the Minister of State for Petroleum and the managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC ,Mr, Ibe Kachukwu, over his continued incompetence and inability to properly address the fuel scarcity situation in the country.
The Save Nigeria Anti Corruption Coalition also cited the minister’s recent unguarded statement in asking Nigerians to continue living with the terrifying situation till the month of May as onother reason why they are calling for his removal.
The group also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately set the machinery for the removal of Mr. Kachukwu, before he wrecks further havoc in the sector, by increasing the anger of Nigerians.
In a statement signed by its executive director, Comrade Femi Lawson, and made available to newsmen, the group accused Mr. Ibe Kachukwu of sabotaging the effort of President Buhari to restore sanity in the oil sector and also deliberately threading paths that have tendencies to create instability in the Nigerian polity through such insensitive utterances.
“Why has Mr. Kachukwu continued to embarrass President Buhari and by extension, Nigerians, by being unable to come out with a logical road map to address the situation, through his expected role at the petroleum Minister and the group managing director of NNPC.
Today, Nigerians are faced with the consequence of the incompetencies of the Minister of State and his lack of understanding of our feelings as Nigerians”.the Save Nigeria Anti Corruption Coalition said.
The group further said that the failure of President Buhari to sack Mr. Kachukwu will speak volumes if Nigerians are important or not in the face of this administration, considering statement like this made by Mr. Kachukwu.
“We shall ensure that we use every legitimate means to engage Nigerians to further press for the removal of Mr. Kachukwu who from all indication have proven not to be competent enough to tackle the agony being faced by Nigerians at this critical moment” the statement concluded.
