A renowned Pastor with a notable in Church in Nigeria, Pastor Donald Imasekha based in Ikorodu Area of Lagos State has gone into hiding following threat to his life and his family by some alleged cultists.
Addressing news men at his residence in Ikorodu the Clergyman explained that in 2014 he traveled to Benin City Edo State for a Church crusade where he preached against the activities of cultism in Benin and he implored the state government to take drastic action against cultism.
The Clergyman stated that after the crusade, some alleged cultists trailed him to his house and was mercilessly beaten including members of his families but he miraculously escaped, however his nephew Michael Imasekha was unlucky as he was taken away by the cultist only to be found dead the following day.
The Clergyman said the case was reported at the New Benin Police station in Benin City but the police have not been unable to apprehend the killers till date.
He said recently his mother in-law aged 90 years old was kidnapped but was released after a ransom was paid.
The Cleric further explained that after the incidence, the cultists have been threatening his life and his family members and they have been living in fear.
The Pastor who is also a human right activist alleged that the cultists have traced him to his residence in Ikorodu area of Lagos State in connivance with some Ijaw militants and oil pipeline vandals in Ikorodu with the intention to kill him and members of his family. He stated that he had escaped three kidnap attempts within the past few months
The Clegyman and his family had gone into hiding because of the threat to their lives.
It will be recalled the in 2015 some policemen and officials of the Department of State Security Services and some notable landlords in the area were brutally murdered in Ikorodu by the suspected oil pipeline vandals in Ikorodu.
He appealed to security agencies to save his life and those of his family members from activities of the cultist and oil pipeline vandals in Ikorodu.
