Seychelles Flora: Minister St.Ange calls for industry support for authors
Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange has appealed for the industry to support the Authors of the book, a collection of Seychelles flora, a field-guide to selected plants written by retired Biology lecturer with an M.Sc. in Biology, Steen Hansen and a known nature personality of Praslin, Victorin Laboudallon.
Commenting on the book, Minister St.Ange said the book is an impressive document that every tourism establishment needs to have at their reception and owned by DMCs and Tourist Guides.
He noted that the book puts names to plants and flowers people see everyday and it makes a bush walk more interesting as he appealed for the industry to support the Authors.
According to him, the 726 pages book with hundreds of colour photos is published as a hard-back collection of Seychelles flora and was printed in Denmark.
“It is an impressive document that every tourism establishment needs to
have at their reception and owned by DMCs and Tourist Guides. It puts names to plants and flowers we see everyday and it makes a bush walk more interesting”, said Minister St.Ange .
This was just as the authors have also called on Minister Alain St.Ange to present a copy of the book.
The authors are also seeking the support of the industry for the book that has been referred to as the tool for any nature lover.
“A reprint is needed and we need to get the tourism industry to engage with us as this book is one that is sought after by visitors” the authors said.
Mr Hansen and Mr Laboudallon are also inviting businesses to brand their company on the back cover of the book.
“This is open to hotels or tourism companies or even Airline companies conscious of the green marketing approach” the Authors of the book said at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture offices at ESPACE Building in Victoria.
The 726 pages book with hundreds of colour photos is published as a hard-back collection of Seychelles flora.
