‘Ojudu is Ekiti number one enemy’
Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications
and New Media, Lere Olayinka has described the Special Adviser
(Political) in the office of the Vice President, and former Senator,
representing Ekiti Central, Babafemi Ojudu as the number one enemy of
Ekiti State and its people, whose views on the State were always
geared towards causing political instability in the State, challenging
the Vice President’s aide to point to just one achievement recorded
throughout his four years in the Senate.
Olayinka, who reacted to comment credited to Ojudu that the Ekiti
State Governor, Ayodele Fayose was responsible for the non-inclusion
of the State in the federal government school feeding programmes and other intervention programmes, said; “For a programme that was held on June 9, 2016, mail was sent by one Titilola Adeyemi to the State
Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon Gbenga Olajide on June 8,
2016 at exactly 3:56pm, asking that list of participants from Ekiti
State be sent before the close of business that same day. No prior
invitation was received.”
He said; “the commissioner sent a mail on June 9 requesting
clarification on the mail sent by Titilola Adeyemi but up till now, no
response has been received. How could Ekiti State have participated in
a programme held on June 9 when invitation was only received on June 8 at 3:56pm?”
The governor’s spokesperson said it was the duty of Ekiti indigenes in
the APC government to use their positions to attract developments from the federal government to the State, saying; “Ekiti people should ask former Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi who is the minister of Solid
Minerals what step he has taken on the solid minerals in the State
since he assumed office and what Ojudu has done for the State since he
was appointed Special Adviser to the Vice President on political
matters apart from trying to use his position to destabilise the
Fayose-led government.”
He said contrary to Ojudu’s claim, there was no National Economic
Council meeting that Ekiti State did not attend, adding that; “States
do not need to go cap-in-hands to beg in Abuja to get what should be
due to them.”
Olayinka said it was a shame that Ojudu was trying to cover up the
roles that he played in trying to prevent the inclusion of Ekiti State
in the proposed school feeding programme by deliberately delaying
sending of invitation to the State despite that all necessary
requirements were complied with by the State government.
He said; “It is on record that President Mohammadu Buhari never
attended Council of State meetings from 2003 till 2015. He only
attended in January 2015 when decision to reschedule the presidential
was to be taking. Despite Buhari’s refusal to attend the Council of
State meetings, he was not denied his entitlements as a former Head of
State. His home State, Katsina was never denied its benefits by the
PDP-led federal government then.”
“Ojudu waged war against Otunba Niyi Adebayo when he was governor, he
waged war against Fayose during his first tenure as governor, the same
Ojudu waged war against Engr Segun Oni and went on to lie that Oni set
fire on his residence in Ado-Ekiti, and since Fayose assumed office,
Ojudu has been waging war against the governor hoping to truncate his
government so as to pave way for his governorship ambition.
“However, one thing he must know this time around is that Ekiti people
are wiser. Ekiti people will no longer succumb to the evil
machinations of a man who was in the senate for four years and did not
affect the lives of anyone in Ekiti State positively, not even his
immediate family members,” Olayinka said.
