Obuah commends Gov Wike over flood free rainy season
Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), bro Felix Obuah said the flood free streets and roads recorded in the State despite unusual heavy downpour this rainy season is as a result of the focused efforts of the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike to checkmate the occasional natural disaster.
The Sole Administrator who commended Gov Wike for his listening ears and Pro-active measures also lauded the Port Harcourt residents and Rivers people across the State for imbibing the culture of civilized living and taking the campaign against blockage of drainages seriously which has resulted in the flood free season.
Obuah cited St. John’s Bus stop, Aba/Port Harcourt Road, Market Junction, Rumuomasi and Ntawoba Creek that used to be flash points in the heat of the rains but no longer constitute threats to motorists and commuters as previously was the case.
While appreciating the good development which he attributed to the hindsight and visionary leadership of Gov Wike, the Sole Administrator, Bro Obuah urged all not to relent in their efforts to keep the waterways unblocked for free flow of water.
All wastes, he said, should be properly deposited at the designated dumpsites as both ethically required to ensure a healthy environment and complement government efforts in same regard.
Bro Obuah expressed his optimism that despite the huge flooding sites and challenges inherited from the immediate past administration in the State, Gov Wike is most ready to see that flooding becomes a thing of the past in the State and stressed that wastes should not be discharged into gutters and drainages.
