A chieftain of Alliance for Democracy (AD) Mr. Akinkunle Caulcrick, has said that the party is much alive and repositioned to take over the governance of Lagos State, comes 2019.
Caulcrick, who is the chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government’s Chapter of the party, stated this during inaugural meeting of the party, and two Lagos State House Assembly aspirants, held at Fadeyi area of the state.
He also spoke on the choice of Barrister Owolabi Salis, as the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos State, for the coming general election.
Speaking on the AD’s repositioning at the inaugural meeting, Caulcrick said: “we wants all Lagosians to know that AD is progressive, AD is alive, AD is not dead. Our governorship candidate in Lagos State have emerged, that is Barrister Owolabi Salis, and we hope that by the power of God we become the next Governor of Lagos State after Governor Ambode.
“We chose Barrister Salis, because he is a well knowledgeable and he is one of top lawyers in United State of America. We chose Barrister Salis as our governorship candidate because we want him to use the knowledge he has been using in America here in Lagos State, so that our dear state can witness more development
“In AD, we want someone that will be thinking about the masses. We do not want someone who only thinks about bourgeoisie and have only the interest of the bourgeoisie in the heart. We want people that have the interest of the masses at heart.
“Currently, the government we have in the state are capitalists who only thinks about themselves alone and we in Lagos State says ‘enough is enough, ‘our mumu don do’.
Caulcrick also said Lagosians should be expecting from his party progress, Human faces and more infrastructure development, shelter, foods and others good things.
“Lagosians should be expecting progress, human faces, more infrastructural development, shelter and foods.
“Late Chief MKO Abiola once said: ” when food problem is settled in man’s life, poverty has reduced”. Our expectations from Barrister Salis is to bring foods to the tables of all Lagosians, especially the youths.
“This is the man that has no political godfathers, but sees the youths, the masses as his godfathers and he is ready to their biddings.
“If elected as the next Lagos State governor, Barrister Salis will listen to the youths and the masses because he is a listening person.
“We expect Barrister Salis is good governance. He is a caring man, that is why our party’s logo is ‘Salis Cares, Salis Listens Salis Cares, because he thinks and cares.
Caulcrick called on all Lagosians to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and vote out the bourgeoisie and elite Governor Barrister Salis to power in Lagos State, in 2019.
Also speaking at the inaugural meeting, Honourable Oladokun Adekunle and Taiwo Olusegun, who are aspiring for Lagos Mainland Constituency 1 and 2 respectively, said the only party that can take them out of the present situation is Alliance for Democracy (AD).
