Abuja comes alive as NCAC int’l expo opens today
The much anticipated International Arts and Crafts Expo (INAC) organised by the National Council for Arts and Culture will kick off officially today, Monday 19th November by 12 noon in Abuja.
The Expo which is the 11th edition with the theme: Networking Nigerian Crafts to the World, will hold at the FCT exhibition pavilion just besides the International Conference Centre.
Dignitaries expected to grace the opening ceremony include the Honourable Minister of the FCT and Chairman of the occasion, Alh. Mohammad Musa Bello; Special Guest of Honour, Sam Nda Isaiah (Publisher, Leadership Newspaper); Mother of the Day, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar who is Minister of Women Affairs.
Others are, Royal Father of the Day, HRH Alh. Shehu Idris, Emir of Zazzau while the Hon. Minister of Information Culture and Tourism, Alh. Lai Mohammed will be the Chief Host.
The director-general of the NCAC and host of the occasion, Otunba Segun Runsewe says the exhibition will be a new window of networking Nigeria to the entire world.
Runsewe added that Nigerians can take full advantage of the Expo by availing themselves with the free medical services and numerous skill acquisition components/waste to wealth initiatives carefully designed by the NCAC to empower Nigerians in line with the policy thrust of President Mohammadu Buhari.
The DG expressed confidence that Nigeria’s culture and living arts industry will make unprecedented economic gains with over 23 countries from around the world participating in this year’s INAC which is expected to last from 19th to 24th November.
