Xenophobic attacks: 2nd batch of 314 Nigerians arrive MMIA
No fewer than 314 Nigerians have arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday aboard Air Peace flight following the recent spate of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
The B 777 aircraft, with registration number 5N-BWI, which departed Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, landed at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 7.22 p.m.
The flight which should have taken off on Tuesday but was stalled due to delayed landing permit to Air Peace by the South African airport authority finally took off by 1:50pm local time from the OR Tambo International Airport.
About 320 people were expected but six passengers were dropped as a result of documentation issues, making the number 314.
The 314 passengers comprise of 289 adults and 25 infants.
