NiMET DG accused of fraudulent conversion of staff quarters to personal property

The director general of Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET), Prof Sani Abubakar Mashi, has been accused of conversion of an expanse of land meant for staff quarters at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja to personal property. The Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the forfeiture of three landed properties belonging to Kola Aluko, an ally of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission gave the valued of the landed properties located in Abuja and Lagos as $73m and N350m.
