Illegal firearms importation: Court dismisses alleged smugglers’ no case submissions, frees one

Justice Ayokunle Faji of the Federal High Court, Lagos, Friday, dismissed no case submission, filed by a retired Customs Officer, Hassan Mahmud and two others, who are standing trial before the Court on illegal firearms smuggling 661 Pump Action Riffles into the country. Other defendants whose No-case-Submissions were also dismissed are: the retired Customs Officer’s company, Hassan Mahmud Trading Company Limited and Donatus Ezebunwa. Court sentences hard drugs smuggler to 6 Years imprisonment

A hard drugs smuggler, Amobi Okoye, was on Friday convicted and sentenced to six years imprisonment, by a Federal High Court, Lagos. Amobi, a residents of  Zone B, Block 13, Flat 6, Iba Estate, Iba Lagos, was given the jail terms by Justice Jude Dagat, who pronounced him guilty of count-charge of unlawful export of 1.030 kilogram of cocaine. Men of Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) Ikoyi, Lagos, has arraigned Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, popularly called Iyanya, before an Igbosere High Court, of Lagos State, for alleged car theft.
