The executive secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam has commended the Plateau State Police Command for their effort in curbing the issues of insecurity in the State.

He made this known during a courtesy visit to the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Egbuka at the Plateau State Police Headquarters, Jos.

The NCPC boss further commended the Police Commissioner on how he has professionally handled the issues of kidnapping and conflicts between farmers and herders. In his words, “You have done what any seasoned administrator will do in crisis management”.

Rev Pam started that the fight against insecurity is a collective effort and is  not only for the security agencies alone. He urged citizens of the state to be vigilant and report criminal or suspicious activities to the police.

He explained that the issue of insecurity and communal crisis can only be resolved through communication and dialogue.

According to him, “Conflicts can only be resolved through feeling the pains and the concern of the people who are aggrieved”. 

He therefore called on leaders across various organisations in the state to create a platform where people can express their concerns and they would be looked into.

The NCPC scribe assured that he would do everything humanly possible to support the security agencies in the fight against insecurity in the country.

In his words, “My organisation and other religious leaders will rally round to ensure peace in Nigeria and support the fight against insecurity”.

In his response, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Edward Egbuka congratulated the Executive Secretary on his appointment. In his words, “When your appointment was announced,  there was a lot of excitement in the state and this is due to how you have impacted the people of Plateau State”.

Mr. Egbuka stated that the nation is faced with   alot challenges which can only be resolved by spiritual rebirth and rejuvenation. According to him, “The transformation we desire as a nation hinges on spiritual rebirth which can be achieved only by our religious institutions”.

He urged citizens not to relent in the fight against insecurity and support  security agencies to end criminal activities in the state.
