Why i want to represent my people to bring development – Odika, APGA contestant

A Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA from Isselu Uku in Aniocha local government area of Delta State, Mr Jonathan Uche Odika has said his decision to contest for the House of Assembly election in 2023, is geared towards development
Mr Odika who disclosed this to journalists said he has all it takes to represent his people in the House haven helped in the empowerment of people in the area
“I have been involved in a lot of community works over time within and outside Nigeria and I continue to do same whenever I am called upon for my contributions by my people”
He said job creation will be his priority for tye teeming unemployed youths in the area
“My sincere reason to represent my people is to bring development in the area of job creation and access to training for SME for the unemployed youths and seek to bring relief to the elderly including widows/widowers. Provision of portable water in Aniocha North is also one very key factor in my agenda”
Odika revealed that assistance to the non-indigenes in the camps most of them farmers that provides food for the people will also be encouraged
“I will use my political office to improve on education, such as computer literacy and sporting, including youth training in skill acquisition, infrastructural development with great interest in agriculture”
“APGA as a political party has been in Aniocha North for quite some time. In fact Prince Ned Nwoko was Delta state Gubernatorial candidate 2003. My Local Government has an APGA Active Secretariat and sizeable number of followers”
According to him, his emergence as the flag bearer has seen a further influx of party card holders adding that most of the new intakes were those APC/PDP followers who were disenfranchised by their previous political parties.
He stated that security remained a key challenge confronting Aniocha North as the LGA was becoming a hub for vicious herdsmen who were raping and maiming male/female farmers and other vulnerable people.
Odika said he intended to further equip the local vigilante to improve their efforts into the forest and flush out herdsmen and other elements who carried out kidnapping and other vices.
“Another major concern in our Local Government Headquarter Isselu-uku is erosion; I intend to solicit funds to finally get the situation settled because the menace has plagued the community for many years. Successive politicians have tried and failed to remedied the issue of pipe borne water.”
” I will whole heartedly represent my people with great emphasis on the grass root by the grace of God. My people see me as approachable, down to earth and people loving man. I want to transfer that to my political life. I will be available and open to meet with my people, listen to their complains and needs”
Odika has worked in London after his university education for some years before relocating to Nigeria to pick up appointment with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) for some years before going into private business that has been very successful
He did various engineering work for parastatals such as FAAN, PHCN, and NAHCO. He is married with children.
