Chinet Aviacargo 2024: MCDAN Aviation boss urges Africans to partner to move continent forward
The founder, chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel Mckorley, has called on African businesses to partner by coming together to move the continent forward.
Speaking at the recently concluded Chinet Aviacargo Conference at the Marriott Hotel Ikeja Lagos, Mckorley said until Africa comes together and partner, she is going no where.
He stated that the problem of Africa can be categorised into four broad areas which include infrastructure, politics, pricing, bribery and corruption.
Mac Dan boss pointed out that, “if you don’t control the air and the sea, you don’t have a business”.
He said Africa has to move away from talking to doing things practically as the western world is not ready to help but to exploit Africa.
Mckorley decried the issue of poor connectivity in Africa where access to some African countries has to be through France or United Kingdom.
He urged Africans to really look at the issue of insurance and the extractive industry.
Mckorley said Africa needs to take the African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCTA seriously .
He stressed the need for African stakeholders to start talking about solutions to problems and not about challenges all the time.
Mckorley was awarded the West African 2023 Aviacargo personality of the year at the event.
