No “Panic Event” on our Akure to Abuja flight contrary to Sahara Reporters claim – Air Peace
.. Says it was a smooth flight that landed safely without any abnormal event
The management of Air Peace has once again cleared the air on the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore’s claim of panic on Its Akure to Abuja flight.
The airline explained in a statement signed by its that that there was no such “PANIC EVENT” on the said flight, pointing out on the contrary, it was a smooth flight that landed safely without any abnormal event.
Air Peace stated clearly that: “The windshield had a crack on the Outer layer of the front window of the First Officer’s side, which was discovered by the cockpit crew.
On no account was the safety of the flight or safety of the passenger jeopardized in the process. This was because the cracked Windshield still had two protective layers, hence the there was no impact on the performance or safety of the flight and its passengers”.
The airline noted that contrary to Sowore’s claim that Air Peace tried to hide the event by not reporting to the relevant authorities, the said event was reported in accordance with the guidelines on how such reports should be filed with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority ( NCAA) immediately by the crew in Abuja.
The airline added that it followed due process in accordance with Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations and safety procedures.
Air Peace pointed out that eindshield crack is a normal occurrence in aviation worldwide.
“There was never any development that caused panic in flight for the passengers on board. This is false, and such negative report should be discouraged.
Air Peace will never jeopardize the safety of its esteemed passengers and will continue to prioritize the highest standard of safety in its operations”, the management of the airline concluded in their statement.
