39 year old pregnant passenger dies aboard Arik Port-Harcourt -Lagos flight

Barely 3 days after a female passenger of Etihad Airline died at the Murtala Muhammed Airport toilet, Lagos, another pregnant female passenger has died aboard Arik Port-Harcourt to Lagos flight.

Nigerian Pilot gathered that the 39 year old female passenger was on her way to Lagos on referral to the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital when she developed complications during the flight and died.

It was learnt that she was attended to by on-board medical personnel who were passengers, but she died on board.

A statement by Arik’s spokesman, Adebanji Ola confirmed the death of the passenger.

Ola explained in his statement that: “A female passenger on board Arik Air’s Port Harcourt-Lagos flight was confirmed dead on arrival this morning by medical personnel at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Domestic Terminal 1, Ikeja, Lagos.”

He said “the lady boarded the flight from Port Harcourt in company of her husband and cousin. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained.”
The body of the dead passenger has been deposited at an undisclosed morgues in Lagos
It would be recalled that another Arik male passenger died aboard the airline’s aircraft in Lagos.
