AIB to review proposed Civil Aviation Regulations 2019
Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) Nigeria will be hosting a two-day Stakeholders Forum to review its proposed Civil Aviation Regulations of 2019, on the 4th and 5th April 2019 at Radisson Blu, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The aim of the Forum is to engage stakeholders on the proposed amendments to the Civil Aviation (Investigation of Air Accidents and Incidents) Regulations, 2016 and discuss the promotion of aviation safety.
ThE Forum will attract stakeholders from different segments of the aviation sector to deliberate on the Bureau’s amended regulations, which will guide the agency in carrying out its statutory functions and activities.
According to Engr. Akin Olateru, Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of AIB: ‘We are amending our regulations to meet global standards, and the stakeholders input is of great importance. This is in conformance with international best practices’
The Forum is to enable the Bureau review its legal backing as to its duties and processes. The two-day meeting will also feature a stakeholders conference where safety and other critical issues will be deliberated upon by the participants.
Among the dignitaries and speakers being expected are Senator Hadi Sirika, Hon. Minister of State (Aviation), Senator Bala Na’Allah, Mr. Babatunde Irukera, director general, Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Capt. Ado Sanusi, Managing Director, Aero Contractor Mrs Tokunbo Fagbemi, group managing director NAHCO Aviance among others.
