The chairman of Air Peace, Mr Allen Onyema has decried the shortage of space at the Abuja Airport for its operations.

Speaking at the unveiling of the book Air Transportation in Nigeria: The lingering expectations, writen by two Aviation Journalists, Chinedu Eze and Olusegun Koiki in Lagos, Onyema restated that the airlines are not responsible for 95 percent of flights delays in country.

He said the airline operators can only be responsible for only five percent of the flight delays while the remaining 95 percent is caused by authorities and and their operating environment.

Onyema while decrying its small space at the Abuja Airport, noted that some of these factors are contributing to flight delays as the airline has to attend to its passengers going to different parts of the country in two or three small counters.

He disclosed that the airline maybe forced to shut down its Gombe flights because the scanners at the airport are not working.

Onyema said Nigeria airline owners are the most patriotic Nigerians for investing and providing jobs for Nigerians.

Air Peace boss commended the Journalists for comming up with the book saying he agreed with the writters 100 percent on the issue of policy summerssault in the aviation industry.

He said the issue of poor corporate governance pointed out by the writers is very important to the industry as one of the problems militating against the growth of the industry.

Onyema observed that airline operators that are involved in poor corporate governance and unethical practices maybe stunted in growth.

While recommmending the book for every airline boardroom, Onyema gave kudos to Nigerian airline operators for surviving the Nigerian harsh economic operating environment.

He said Air Peace is honouring its financial obligations to its bankers by paying its debt.
