The Akwa-Ibom State governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja led by Justice Sadiq Umar has ordered a rerun in 18 out of the 31 Local Government Areas in the state.
The election tribunal said it found credible evidence of electoral fraud in the last governorship election in the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared Mr. Emmanuel Udom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the election ahead of another main contender, Mr. Umana Umana of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The PDP and its candidate is left now left with the option of appealing against the judgement of go for the re-run
