Rwanda Convention Bureau boss, Nelly Mukazariye has been selected to speak at Akwaaba African Travel Market Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions, MICE Recovery Virtual Conference.
The organisers of Akwaaba African Travel Market have confirmed that Nelly Mukazayire, chief executive officer of Rwanda Convention Bureau will be speaking at the 4th edition of the African Travel and Tourism Conference, scheduled to take place as a virtual event on September 21, 2020.
Rwanda Convention Bureau is a private company established to market Rwanda as a preferred destination for MICE tourism (Meeting, Incentives, Conference and Events) and to ensure coordination and efficient execution of all international events happening in Rwanda.
Prior to that, Nelly was the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the President of Rwanda.
She served as a Senior Advisor to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, and before that, she was a policy researcher in the economics department in the Prime Minister’s Office. She holds a and a Master’s in Economic Policy Management, from the University of Makerere and a Bachelor’s of Science in International Economics from the University of Rwanda, where she was the recipient of the best performer award in economics.
Nelly is a motivational speaker who believes that Africans have a duty to transform their nations, change the narrative about their continent and lead it to prosperity.
She speaks in different high-level forums especially youth conferences where she shares her journey of surmounting overwhelming personal circumstances, as well as her unique experience as a young leader in a new Rwanda, with the aim of motivating a new generation of Africans to be active leaders today.
She was invited by the UNSG to speak at the UN headquarters about her journey as a young leader in the new Rwanda.
Nelly and her husband, Gapita Martin Fabrice, are the proud parents of two children.
The African Travel and Tourism Conference is scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2020 via Zoom at 1400hrs Nigerian time; 1600hrs East African time.
The theme for this year’s conference is: Is MICE a Viable Pathway for Tourism Recovery in Africa?
Other panelists for the event include: Sisa Ntshona, CEO of South Africa Tourism; Lily Ajarova, CEO of Uganda Tourism Board; Jacinta Nzioka (Nat. Coordinator/CEO, Kenya Convention Bureau); and Akwasi Agyeman (CEO, Ghana Tourism Authority), while the lead speaker is Rick Taylor from South Africa.
Special Guest of Honour is tourism guru and presidential candidate in the Seychelles elections, Alain St. Ange, while the session will be hosted by Ambassador Ikechi Uko, season travel and tourism expert and organiser of the event.
Akwaaba African Travel Market, the leading Pan-African Tourism Expo is the first travel and tourism fair in West Africa.
Scheduled to host its 16th edition this year, Akwaaba has attracted leading experts and stakeholders in the travel, tourism, aviation and hospitality industries from different parts of Africa and the world.
In addition, several important dignitaries such as presidents, ministers, ambassadors and high commissioners from different parts of the world have graced the annual event.
The 2020 Akwaaba will be hosted as a virtual event.
