More problems for Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke as civil society groups, Our Mumu Don Do and Concerned Nigerians have called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to apply for the extradition of the former minister of Petroleum from the United Kingdom to face prosecution in Nigeria.
The call became necessary following recent mind-boggling allegations of corruption and wanton looting of public funds and the collective patrimony of Nigerian citizens by Mrs. Allison-Madueke.
This is coming just as a Federal High Court has ordered Mrs. Allison-Madueke to permanently forfeit several luxurious properties in several high brow areas across the country to the federal government.
A statment signed for Our Mumu Don Do) by the Convener, Charles Oputa, (Co-Convener) for Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju and (Publicity Secretary, Our Mumu Don Do), Adebayo Raphael,stated that:” It is therefore unimaginable that the federal government is not pushing for Mrs. Allison-Madueke’s extradition to face punishment for her alleged crimes.
In this light, we will be holding a 2-day sit out in front of the EFCC Headquarters to demand that the Federal Government applies for her extradition and prosecution in Nigeria”.
The details of the sit out released by the group gave the date as Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 August, 2019 by 9am-10am daily at the front of EFCC Office, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Similarly, the group has also called on all well meaning Nigerians to join them and participate in the event.
