Delta Air Lines resumes operations, flight expected to arrive Lagos

Delta flight from Atlanta is expected to arrive Lagos at about 4pm local Nigerian Time on Tuesday 9th August as airline steadily resumes flight operations after loss of power impacted the airline’s operations systemwide.

“We were able to bring our systems back on-line and resume flights within a few hours yesterday but we are still operating in recovery mode. We are sorry for what many of our customers have experienced over the past 24 hours, including those who remain at airports and continue waiting for their flights. We are doing everything we can to return our operation to normal reliability, but we do expect additional delays and cancellations,” said S.V.P. – Operations and Customer Center, Dave Holtz.

The airline said it cancelled around 1,000 flights Monday.

It advised customers traveling Tuesday to check the status of their flight at delta.com or the Fly Delta App, adding that customers can rebook their flight via the website.‎

The airline stated that its travel waiver has been extended to customers traveling on August.

Delta is also offering compensation to customers affected by systemwide outage which was significantly affected by delays or cancellations.

In addition, where available, customers are being provided with hotel rooms and other accommodations if a cancellation requires an overnight stay, the airline said.
