Ekiti 2021 NAFEST: Runsewe urges Nigerians to key into its free skill acquisition strategy, trains over 500 youths

The Director General of the National Council for Art and Culture, NCAC, Otunba Segun Runsewe has urged Nigerians, corporate organisations and others to key into its free skill acquisition strategy for the youths.

Otunba Runsewe who stated this at the just concluded 2021 National Festival of Art and Culture, NAFEST, in Ekiti state, noted that the NCAC has trained over 500 Nigerian youths on free skills acquisition at the just concluded 2021 NAFEST in Ekiti state.

The NCAC boss pointed out that skill is one of the biggest brands in every human being, stressing that every human being has creativity in him or her.

He said: “Believe me, If we continue like this, crime will be reduced in our society, unemployment will be reduced, I have seen it that skills is one of the biggest brands in every human being, every human being has creativity in him or her. So for me, is part of our own social responsibility to return back to the people and leave something for the society.”

While calling on every Nigerian to be ready to help each other and be their brothers keepers, Otunba Runsewe pointed out that the lives of the Nigerians being trained by the NCAC have changed henceforth.

In the words of Runsewe: “Every state Governor has resources to host NAFEST and I sat down and asked myself, what can we leave behind in the states when we leave. You see these great Nigerian trainees today by the grace of God, their lives have changed, there is no Christian, Moslem, no Hausa, no Igbo and Yoruba, is all about our people and you see how excited they are, we did not only train them, we had to give them some stipends to empower them to start something”.

“Look at that gentleman Stephen, he is a physically challenged man, I am extremely excited that he’s not on the street begging, now I have taken it upon myself, we are going to get him a shop to start his own business”, Rusewe said.

He explained further that: “Do you know that within a week, we have trained over 500 Nigerians, they didn’t pay a dine, most organisation will be thinking that if I train them who will pay for their training, let us put money aside. When we train our youths, the country will be peaceful and if our country is peaceful, investors will come and if our country is peaceful, tourists will come, we will be peaceful with ourselves and it will it be peaceful having this people off the street”.
