Ex Nigerian Airways Captain Tito  Omaghomi ‎dies at 71

Ex Nigerian Airways pilot  and president of Sama Foundation, Captain Tito Augustine Omaghomi has died ‎at the age of 71.
A statement signed by ‎ the vice president of Sama Foundation, Mr Dafe Urhobo Sama‎ said Captain Tito Omaghomi  died on Sunday January 3, 2016. 
According to the statement, Captain Tito worked briefly with Nigeria Customs and later went to the United States of America to study flying as a pilot.
He flew with Nigeria Airways for over 25 years, and at one stage in his career, he flew some past Heads of State while he was in the presidential fleet.
He was a Certified FAA Instructor, Training Captain and Type Rating Examiner, director ground equipment – Nigeria Airways, board member of Nigeria Airports Authority (NAA) that later became FAAN/Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), representing NAHCO as Technical Adviser. He was also an active member of Rotary International, Member of International Aeronautical Society.
 Captain Tito   was the pioneer President of Captain Dafieko Sama Flight Safety Foundation, established in 1998 in memory of his colleague, late Captain Dafieko Sama who died in the 1996 ADC air plane crash in Epe area of Lagos State.
Captain Tito was also patron to various orphanage homes.
The statement said the burial arrangements will be announced by Omaghomi Family.
 Omaghomi who was from Delta state was born on the 6th of  June 1944 ‎ and was happily married with children.
‎He  attended Catholic Primary School, Warri 1952-1958,  Urhobo College Effurun, Warri 1959-1963
Burnside Otto Aviation College, Maimi, U.S.A. 1971-1972‎.
