A major Fire incident at the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN in Lagos on Tuesday April 11, 2017 affected some offices of the authority.
The fire incident which has been curtailed consumed files and other equipment belonging to the authority.
Although there were no casualties, but the extent of damage to equipment, documents and other properties may be monumental.
On ground to maintain law and order was the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni and other top police officers.
The fire incident caused heavy traffic gridlock along the Murtala Muhammed Airport road and Agege motor road.
Meanwhile, a statement by the Ag general manager, corporate affairs of FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu (Mrs.) stated that the incident is being investigated right now to find out the cause of the outbreak.
According to her, the fire department, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire Department and other security agencies responded swiftly by curtailing the spread of the fire, as normalcy is being restored already.
She assured the travelers, airport users and the general public that the incident did not affect operations at any airport in any way as normal operations continue unhindered.
