FNAC 2025: Ganduje reiterates FAAN’s commitment towards delivering world-class airport infrastructure, safety

The Board Chairman, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reiterated the board and the management commitment towards delivering world-class airport infrastructure, boosting operational efficiency, improving security, safety and enhancing passenger experience.

In his opening remarks at the FAAN National Aviation Conference (FNAC) 2025 held at Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos,
Dr. Ganduje, stated that the Conference which is the 3rd edition was initiated by FAAN in order to provide a forum where critical stakeholders will discuss vital issues, policy direction, challenges and investment opportunities that will enhance the future of Nigeria Aviation industry.

He emphasised that the theme for this year’s conference: “Elevating the Nigerian Aviation Industry through Investment, Partnership and Global Engagements” is indeed opt and timely because it intends to capture and highlight on progress, the work ahead and other critical issues such as strengthening collaboration and embracing global standards industry that is resilient and competitive.

According to Ganduje: “This conference is also so significant because apart from the topic outline for discussion, the organizers have carefully selected resource persons, discussants and even the audience who are experts, resourceful with vision, ability, knowledge, experience and capacity to deliberate on those issues that will ultimately shape the future of air transport in Nigeria”.

He stated further that the FAAN Board has commenced nationwide inspection visits to nation’s airports with visits already to the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano and Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and will soon visit the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and other airports.

Ganduje explained that the visits will help them to see for themselves the level of the progress so far achieved on the ongoing reforms by the management, challenges as well as engage the stakeholders, all in their efforts to ensure proper implementation of Mr. President ‘s Aviation reform agenda.

He said their major concern is the improvement of security, safety, infrastructural development, positive customer service attitude and revenue generation across the Airports.

FAAN board chairman observed that these can only be achieved through collaboration and close relationship with investors, regulators, operators, development partners, and innovators.

He expressed optimism that the two days Conference will provide an opportunity for robust discussions on airport commercialization, aviation safety, cargo development, revenue optimization, connectivity, Public Private Partnership and multi-modal transport, which are issues critical to the growth of the national economy.

He encouraged all the participants to contribute actively, re-examine its programs and policies as well as explore areas of collaborations that would strengthen the country’s aviation sector for years to come.

Ganduje lauded President President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the ongoing transformation of Nigeria’s airports in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

FAAN Board Chairman noted that the infrastructure upgrades and reforms under his leadership are repositioning the sector for sustainable growth.
