The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has promised to support Christian pilgrimage to Israel and improve the welfare of Christians in the State.

He made this known recently during a sensitisation visit to Ekiti State by the executive secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam.

In the words of the Ekiti State Governor, ” What is paramount is to emphasise the welfare of the state Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board “.

He reiterated,” the welfare of our Christians is very paramount; as a government, we owe it a duty to improve on it”.

Fayemi promised to partner with NCPC to promote Pilgrimage to Israel in the area of Youth empowerment through agriculture.

According to him,” whatever we will do with NCPC to strengthen our partnership we will do”, he assured.

Dr Fayemi further re emphasized that the state Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board is very critical to the government and would do everything to support its operations by sponsoring its activities and all consular and medical services of even the self sponsored Pilgrims.

He equally promised to facilitate the sponsorship of the clergy in the State to Israel so that they would intercede in praying for the well being of Ekiti State.

Governor Fayemi explained that at the peak of the COVID 19 pandemic in the State, his government did not rest on its oars to ensure that the hardships which Christians were subjected to was seriously mitigated by the provision of palliatives to the Christian community.

He stressed that the efficacy and fervent prayers of their fathers in the faith had been keeping this country intact from disintegration.

According to him, ” your prayer and spiritual guidance will not allow Nigeria to collapse”

He further affirmed, “for peace to return to the land, for conflict to reduce in the land, your prayer will make the difference”.

Dr Fayemi who is also the chairman of the Governors Forum assured the NCPC boss that during his tenure in office that Christendom would grow.

” I have no doubt in my mind that during your tenure you will do well;; appointing you has painted us in a positive light”, Fayemi said.

He thanked his guest for considering it needful to visit Ekiti State, adding that the NCPC chief executive had shown commitment to the faith.

The Governor explained that Rev Pam had steadfastly progressed on the journey of evangelization in Christendom.

Earlier, the executive secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam commended the giant strides of Governor Fayemi in Agriculture and youth empowerment, social investment, education and inclusive governance.

He also scored Ekiti State high in terms of the effective way he had managed the security situation in the State.
He intimated his host that NCPC was in the State on a sensitisation drive with church leaders.

He averred that sponsorship of Christians to Israel has its own blessings associated with it.

He affirmed that, “any state who ensures that Christians go on Pilgrimage to Israel Will not experience failure”.

Rev. Pam posited that sponsoring one pastor to Israel on Holy pilgrimage tantamount to sponsoring hundred people to Israel, therefore he urged the Governor to ensure that he sponsors the clergy on Holy Pilgrimage because the impact of their participation would be greatly felt.

He assured him that NCPC would partner with the government of Ekiti State on Agriculture so that the youths of the state would use the platform provided by NCPC to acquire skills during Pilgrimage and this would add value to their lives and the state in general.
