Kogi first lady celebrates Eid-el Fitri with less privileged

‎Wife of Kogi State Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello has celebrated Eid-el Fitri with the less privileged in Lokoja, the State capital.

‎Represented by wife of the deputy Governor, Mrs Eunice Achuba, who was accompanied by the commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Bolanle Amupitan and SSA’s to Governor’s wife, Mrs. Bello pointed out that the less privileged and the physically challenged are entitled to moments of celebration, adding that this occasion is a show of love meant to give a sense of belonging to them.


Mrs Bello urged them to endeavour to see the abilities in their disabilities so they can contribute their own quota as an integral part of the society. 

The first port of call was Mom orphanage Felele where gift items were received by the representative of the manager, Monday Aliyu as the manager was said to be unavoidably absent, followed by Garba Ohiani Ophanage in Zango where gift items were presented to the matron in charge.

At government house, the wife of the deputy Governor representing Mrs Rashida Bello met with and presented gift items to the physically challenged persons.

The representatives of the two orphanages and the president of the association of the physically challenged expressed profound gratitude to Mrs Bello for her kind gesture.

Gift items that were distributed include bags of rice, bags of semo, cartons of indomie and spaghetti noodles, bags of salt, and so on.‎
