He encouraged Lagosians and visitors to explore and experience the fiesta and savour the attractions it brings whilst enjoying the fun that is available in all the venues of the event.
The commissioner assured participants that adequate measures have been put in place for security, traffic management, sanitation and health concerns to ensure safety of lives and property throughout the course of the fiesta.
He noted that One Lagos Fiesta is not just about celebrating the end of one year, but a period filled with exciting activities for everyone, stressing the event is also a hub for children and adults who want top-notch entertainment.
Ayorinde emphasised that, “in line with the policy of inclusiveness associated with this administration, this year’s One Lagos Fiesta will continue in its tradition of holding across the five divisions for eight consecutive days. Like last year’s edition, the venues remain: Agege (in Agege Stadium), Victoria Island (at Bar Beach/Eko Atlantic City), Badagry (in Badagry Grammar School), Epe (at Epe Marina Waterfront) and Ikorodu (in Ikorodu Town Hall). It will commence, like the previous editions, on the eve of Christmas, 24th December and will run till the wee hours of the New Year”.
He said the event has become the biggest end-of-the-year entertainment brand in Africa which provides an unparallel platform for residents and visitors, both old and young, to relax and enjoy themselves in a secured environment.
“As a Government, we are encouraged by the noticeable achievements recorded as a result of hosting this event and we are taking advantage of this year’s edition to fete millions of Lagosians who have supported this initiative running for the 4th consecutive year. The One Lagos Fiesta draws parallel with other international cross over events in the world especially in the countdown night of December 31, and with the unique features associated with the fiesta, it is anticipated to attract over 2million direct participants across the State and over 90million viewers via live television and live streaming on social media,” Ayorinde added.
According to him, Lagos prides itself as the economic and socio-cultural hub of Africa with vibrant expression of its art. Therefore, it has always been the tradition of the Administration to use this instrument as springboard to drive development and market the State’s potential to domestic and foreign investors who will contribute meaningfully towards making Lagos Africa’s model megacity.
The commissioner stated further that the State Government believes that the platform has and will continue to engender economic development, empowerment of the people and promote tourism.
He observed that the One Lagos Fiesta offers upcoming artistes and tradesmen ample opportunity to showcase their talents and market their products which fits into the agenda of the Akinwunmi Ambode administration.

Present at the press briefing are some of the notable musicians who will perform at the fiesta like Blackky, Humble Smith (Osinachi), Adewale Ayuba, Osupa Saidi among others.
