Nigeria Association of Tour Operators, NATOP, has honoured, Mr Ikechi Uko, the organiser of Akwaaba African Travel Market, Board of Trustees (BOT) Member of NATOP, organiser of Accra Weizo and Chinet Aviacargo Conference with Global Tourism Innovation Leader Excellence Award in Ekiti State.
Honoured alongside Uko was Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, the President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, FTAN, Mr Gab Onah, Chairman Carnival Calabar Commission.
Other recipients of the award by NATOP include Chief, Aare Afe Babalola, Founder of the Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti; Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, CEO of La Campagn Tropicana, Mrs Tayo Adeola, Special Adviser, Investment, Trade and Industry to Ekiti State government, Mr. Frank Meke, a seasoned tourism Journalist and columnist, Mr. Andrew Iro Okungbowa, Tourism Editor of the New Telegraph Newspapers and Mrs. Taiye Olayemi, Tourism Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

They were honoured at the recently concluded Annual General Meeting, AGM, of NATOP with the theme: Tourism and Green Economy, held at the Afe Babalola University in Ado Ekiti.
The award presentation formed highlight of the event which also featured the Annual General Meeting (AGM), a seminar and conference at the venue.
The AGM featured panel of discussants made up of tourism industry practitioners.
