NCAA dismisses online report on directive to replace Lagos Airport Runway Lights with Kano as false

The Nigeria Civil Authority (NCAA) has informed the public to disregard the online media report claiming that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Mr. Festus Keyamo, has ordered the removal of airfield lights at Mallam Aminu Kano International to replace the missing airfield lights at Runway 18R at Murtala Muhammad International Airport Lagos.

The NCAA in a statement signed by its Director General, Capt. Musa Nuhu, said the regulatory body is not aware of any directive to remove any of the several airfield light systems at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The NCAA noted that the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano is among the five International airports in the country close to receiving certification as required by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

He assured the traveling public that it will leave no stone unturned in ensuring continuous safety of flight operations in all sectors of civil aviation in Nigeria.
