NCPC opens bid for the construction of pilgrims heritage camp
The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has opened Bid for Engineering and Construction Companies for the Construction of her Pilgrims Heritage Camp called the “Heritage C House ” Abuja.
The bidding was held on Friday 16th August 2019 at the NCPC Corporate headquarters, Abuja.
Speaking at the bid opening, the executive secretary NCPC Rev. Tor Uja disclosed that the Heritage Camp would enable the Commission organize proper orientation for intending Pilgrims before they embark on their trip to the Holy Land.
He further hinted that the Heritage Camp would also have an Auditorium with a 1500 sitting Capacity which would serve as an interdenominational hall where Christians can host their Programs.
Rev. Uja stated that the Commission is committed to fair and transparent selection process of qualified and credible bidders.
While saying that the selection would be done in accordance to the Public Procurement Act, Uja promised bidders that the NCPC would ensure due process,
In his words, “I want to assure you all that there is no preferential treatment for any bidder”.
The NCPC Boss charged those who would qualify and be selected to ensure they provide quality services as unto the LORD and not for what they may stand to gain.
In his remarks Mr. Ebere Akpan who represented Advocacy for Transparency Network commended the Commission for a well-organized, fair and transparent bidding process by all standards.
He further Commended the executive secretary for his exemplary leadership skills and thanked him for the opportunity given them to observe the bidding process.
The bid opening for the construction of the NCPC Pilgrims Heritage Camp attracted many Observers from reputable Civil Society Organizations among which are, Centre for Transparency Watch, Transparency Action Project, Faithman Foundation and Transparency Ambassador, Advocacy for Transparency Network, also Nigeria Society of Senior Engineers.
The bidding process was divided into five major categories, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveyors.
Sixteen bidders participated in the bid.
