The executive secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, NCPC, Rev. Yakubu Pam has said that Nigeria has the most organised and
efficient pilgrimage body in the world.

He made this assertion in Abuja recently while playing host to the assistant general overseer and Coordinator of the Northern Region of the Redeemed Christian Church of
God, Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi.

The NCPC boss posited that because of the mass movement of Christians and Muslims to the Holy Land of Israel and Mecca, the federal government had to establish both NCPC and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to coordinate and regulate the activities of Pilgrimage in Nigeria.

Rev. Pam commended the founding fathers of this two pilgrimage bodies as well as President Muhammadu Buhari for their support for Pilgrimage in Nigeria.

The No 1 Christian Pilgrim Officer of the Federation told the clergy that as a Commission, NCPC is here to partner with all the Churches in the country.

He explained that the Commission would continue to encourage pastors to preach messages that would elicit the interest of Christians to embark on Holy Pilgrimage.

He further reiterated the fact that the Commission by its Act empowers it to coordinate pilgrimages to Israel and other Holy sites around the world such as Greece and Rome.

He urged the fathers of the faith to own Pilgrimage and drive the process.

The NCPC helmsman urged pastor Odeyemi to use his reach to appeal to his faithful to buy into Pilgrimage and encourage self-sponsorship of intending pilgrims.

He intimated the cleric that the Commission usually interfaces with various church leaders in order to bring them closer to the Commission and chart a new cause for Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria in line with the Commission’s
mandate.

Rev. Pam cashed in on the visit to commend the visible innovation that the Redeemed Church of God had brought to the Ministry of God by ensuring that the presence of the Church is well felt in every nook and cranny of the Country.

He further commended the visionary and sacrificial leadership of its General Overseer, pastor Enoch Adeboye who has always been in the forefront of purposeful leadership.

Earlier, Pastor Ezekiel Odeyemi told the executive secretary that he was in his office to congratulate him on his well-deserved appointment.

He further informed the NCPC boss that his church the Redeemed Christian Church of God would partner with the Commission in pilgrimage matters.

Meanwhile, the presiding Bishop and Founder of the Redeemed Evangelical Mission International , Lagos Bishop Mike Okonkwo has thrown his weight to the Christian Leaders Consultative Peace Forum being championed by the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC.

The Clergy disclosed this in Lagos recently while playing host to the executive secretary of NCPC, Rev Yakubu Pam in his church headquarters in Lagos.

He assured the NCPC boss that he would support any positive initiative that would bring a lasting peace in the country.

The Cleric explained that no sacrifice would be too much to salvage the present state of the nation.

He averred that the Church has all it takes to help bring back peace in the country through genuine engagement with strategic stakeholders in the Nigeria project.

Bishop Okonkwo promised to support the worthy cause of the Christian Leaders and reiterated his unalloyed support.

He assured the NCPC boss who is the Convener of the peace forum that he would support actively in the proposed meeting of the body slated for early next year in South East, in Enugu.

He thanked the NCPC boss and his team for their sacrificial Leadership and service to the nation.

He prayed that God in His infinite mercy would continue to reward the good efforts of Rev Pam in peace building in Nigeria.

Earlier, the executive secretary of NCPC, Rev Yakubu Pam briefed the clergy on the just concluded Christian Leaders Consultative meeting in Lagos.

He intimated that the meeting was held to bring Christian leaders in Lagos together to find a lasting solution to youth restiveness as well as the general state of the nation.
