Mr. Tor Uja was born on 28th August, 1957 in .…. Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State. He attended St. John’s Primary School, Gboko and Government Secondary School, Gboko Benue State.

In 1978 he was admitted into the University of Lagos, Akoka Lagos for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication and graduated in 1981.

His quest for knowledge took him to the University of Jos, where he bagged a Masters of Science Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies in 1987. Also,   Mr. Uja enrolled for his Doctor of Philosophy Programme (PHD) in the University of Jos and he is expected to round off the programme any time from now.

Mr. Uja who is a seasoned Journalist has held several strategic appointments in the Government as well as the Private Sector since graduation. He served as Chapter President, Field Rep and a NEC Member at the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship from 1988-1991, since 1998 to date he served as the Grand Patron in the Student Union Government, Benue State University, Makurdi, the Joint Campus Christian Fellowship, Benue State University, and also the Grand Patron of the Joint Campus Christian Fellowship, University of Agriculture, Makurdi.

He was appointed Commissioner of information and Social Development in Benue State as well as the Commissioner of Commerce and Industries from 1987-1983.

Mr. Uja also served on the Advisory Board of the Benue Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) from 2001-2005.  He was later appointed as the Chairman of Benue Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, (PFN) where he served for ten years from 2005-2015.

Mr. Uja who was recently appointed by Mr President as the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), assumed duty on 23rd June, 2016. He will pilot the affairs of the Commission for a Period of five years and renewable for another five years.

He is happily married and the marriage is blessed with lovely and wonderful children.
