President Muhammadu Buhari has retired 17 permanent secretaries from the federal civil service ahead of the inauguration of the Federal Executive Council, FEC on Wednesday.
Sources said the affected permanent secretaries held a closed door meeting with the President, his Chief of Staff and the Head of Service, at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday afternoon.
It was gathered that some of the permanent secretaries led by the new Acting Head of Civil Service of the federation, Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita may have been informed about their untimely retirement during the closed door meeting with the president at the presidential villa.
Nigerianfranknews.com observed that most of those affected were those senior to the acting Head of Service.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina disclosed that the President also appointed 18 permanent Secretary and deployed 36 to various ministries.
