Promoting pilgrimage: NCPC seeks support of federal, states government

The executive secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) , Rev. Tor Uja has solicited the support of the federal and states government in promoting the activities of NCPC and its pilgrimage programmes.

He made this known in Abuja recently while playing host to Kwande and Ushongo delegation from Benue state who were in NCPC on a courtesy visit.

According to him: “at this time of economic hardship government should support NCPC and pilgrimage practice that will expose our people”

The NCPC boss called on Nigerians to learn a lesson from Christian pilgrimage. “I believe Kwande people can set the pace”. He added: “I need your Youth to be exposed to what commitment to a nation can do”

He explained that Nigeria has the most gifted christian Church in the world.

He informed the delegation that he would like Kwande to select and sponsor delegation to Israel and expose them to more modern Agricultural practices and also for spiritual rejuvenation.

Rev. Uja affirmed: “by the grace of God we shall give this nation proper leadership to show that Kwande has a son”.

He appreciated the quality of the delegation and thanked them for coming all the way from Kwande to visit him. He stressed that Kwande remained indivisible and a leading light not just in Benue, but in Nigeria.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Prof. David Iornem thanked the federal government for recognising them with the appointment of their illustrious son as the executive secretary of NCPC.

He explained that Mr. President had good intentions to rule this country very well. He stated that the problem of Fulani herdsmen was only temporary because the TIV and the Fulanis have long standing relationship. His words; “your office should some as a point of contact to proffer solution to the problem”.

Prof. Iornem further stressed; “we see you as our representation in the Federal government of Nigeria. He added: “you are here and you are playing a very important role in the government of the Federal government.

The delegation was made up of distinguished professionals, politicians and well meaning sons and daughters of Kwande.

Similarly, the Christian Appointees of Benue State have paid a courtesy visit to the Rev. Uja at the NCPC Corporate headquarters, Abuja.

Speaking during the courtesy visit, the Eeecutive secretary of NCPC told his guest that he was delighted to have them in his office. In his words, “this is one of the best visits of my life. I am so over joy because this is my people who we share a covenant of life with”.

Rev. Uja informed that the Commission is working towards making NCPC a self sustaining, self governing and self propagating so that the Commission would be an enviable place where people come and see the manifestation of God.

He intimated that the commission would introduce Agricultural pilgrimage which would help farmers in Nigeria learn new agricultural skills to improve on the skills they have. In his words, “we will make the farmers undergo the spiritual training before exposing them to agriculture”.

The NCPC boss stressed that he is planning to build an international link between Benue State and the State of Israel to afford Benue State the leverage on their agricultural strength and afford them the opportunity to learn new agricultural techniques that would help the economy of the state.

He informed that Benue State is the largest producer of Citrus in Nigeria, but the state is only able to consume 30% of the oranges produced. He further informed that he is liaising with the Israeli authorities to partner with the state to savage the 70% of the Oranges produced, and put an end to wastage.

The NCPC helmsman affirmed that Nigeria has the most vibrant church in the world and called on the leaders of the church to be united in prayers and help reshape Nigeria. According to him, “I want the people of Benue and Nigeria at large to rise up and unite Nigeria with their prayers”.

He also informed that on the 18th of July, the Commission would be organising a dedication service to dedicate the commission into God’s hand.

Earlier, the chaplain of the Benue State Chapel, Evang. Daniel Unongo said that the appointment of Rev. Uja is an elevation to the kingdom of God and to Benue State. He informed that they have come to identify with the NCPC boss. In his words, “we have come to identify with you and we know that you will not deny your brethren”.

He assured the executive secretary of their fervent prayers and support for him.
