Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc, SAHCO, has delivered a strong financial growth in profit rising from ₦12 billion to ₦18 billion, reflecting a 47% increase.
The company achieved a 58 percent increase in revenue, a 141 percent increase in profit and a 31 percent increase in assets from third quarter 2024 to third quarter 2025.
Speaking over the weekend during the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents, LAAC Gateway Forum in Lagos, Mrs Adenike Aboderin, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of SAHCO PLC
stated that if the company continue on this growth strategy with their partnership and clients, it will continue to surpass their goals, with a bright future.
Mrs Aboderin disclosed that profit before tax increased from ₦5.5billion to ₦10billion, demonstrating an 82 percent growth, while profit before tax increased from ₦4.6billion to ₦8billion, reflecting an 83 percent growth.
Aboderin stated that the company total assets increased from ₦40.6billion to ₦53billion, representing 31 percent growth.
SAHCO boss stressed that the company recorded 82 percent profit growth, 57 percent revenue growth and ₦13 billion rise in assets.
She noted that the growth which is a year-on-year increase, is highly commendable despite all the headwinds the company was going through.
Aboderin said the company invested heavily in assets, infrastructure, sustainable equipments and trying to phase out age equipments gradually.
She reiterated that the company had financial resilience and growth by strategically investing in operational excellence, efficiency, technological infrastructure, and sustainable partnerships with their stakeholders, the airlines, agents, and the regulatory bodies.
SAHCO boss pointed out that the company has started the e-billing, just to improve faster processing as bills are sent electronically, and payment is also made electronically.
Aboderin said SAHCO has set up a new department called the Resource Allocators Department so that there’s efficiency in utilising its scarce resources and few resources, both brick, mortar equipments and people resources.
She emphasised that the resource allocators is to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and bring out operational excellence.
SAHCO boss added that the company has developed an in-house flight app and a budget app, sticking strictly to budget performance.
She stated that SAHCO has just gone into cybersecurity to strengthen their controls and to safeguard its software.
Aboderin maintained that SAHCO has the most certifications of all the handlers.
Currently, we make sure we’re on top-notch in all our certifications and standards and compliance, both at IATA and also on the cargo side.
On RE3, which is for cargo security, we have certifications in Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Abuja. And we’re currently doing an upgrade again because of the new TSA regulations by the government. We were the first to get all the machines that the TSA requested, Aboderin said .
She disclosed that the company is going into partnership with some African countries on training, stressing that SAHCO is going to start opening its training school for commercialised trainings, aviation-related.
According to her, the company serve over 25 domestic and international airlines.
SAHCO boss explained that the company is Implementing an ISO 14001-based system for environmental compliance which a lot of airlines request for.
Aboderin further explained that by the end of next year, their target is to expand to other African countries .
She said the company started SIPA SACOL Aviation, a new subsidiary for helicopter services to oil and gas as a way of diversifying.
SAHCO boss stressed that the company is doing certification in the area of cold room infrastructure as its working with IATA on that.
Aboderin noted SAHCO has enhanced financial resilience by improving efficiency, investing in technology, and fostering partnerships with all their clients leading to a 27% year-on-year cost reduction for the company through new digital tools and streamlining process.
