EFCC opposes transfer of Atiku’s lawyer money laundering charge to another judge 

The scheduled re-arraignment of lawyer to Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, the Presidential candidate of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 general election, Mr. Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie, for alleged money laundering charge, before a Federal High Court, Lagos, today, was stalled due to opposition raised by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for taking over the case by another judge. Court grants Atiku’s son-in-law, permission to travel abroad for Medical treatment

Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court, Lagos, today, permitted Abdullahi Babalele, the son-in-law to the former Nigeria Vice President, Mr. Abubakar Atiku, to travel to the United State of America (USA) for medical treatment. Justice Aneke however ordered that Babalele must returned his travel passport to the court’s Registrar, by November 11, when his trial over alleged money laundering will commenced. Abdullahi Babalele, the son-in-Law to the Nigeria former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku’s Abubakar, was today, rearraigned before a Federal High Court, Lagos, on two counts charge of money laundering. He was rearraigned before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke led-court on the charge, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Money Laundering: Court remands Atiku’s son-in-law, lawyer, one other in EFCC custody

A Federal High Court, today, remanded Atiku’s son-in-laws, Abdullahi Babalele, a lawyer, Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie, who is said to be Atiku’s lawyer and the brother to the lawyer, Erhunse Giwa-Osagie, in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) till tomorrow, Thursday, when their bail applications would be entertained.  The court presided by Justice Nicholas Oweibo, remanded Babalele, and the Giwas-Osagie’s brothers in the EFCC’s custody, after pleas were taken in money Laundering charges.
