Court orders Emirates Airlines to pay $1.6m, N50m for unlawful conversion of passenger’s funds

A Federal High Court Lagos has ordered Emirates Airlines to pay $1.6million and N50millon for unlawful conversion of a passenger’s funds. The businessman, Mr. Orji Prince Chu Ikem, whose hand luggage contained $1, 630 million , was illegally and unlawfully converted by some staff of Emirates Airlines, during a business trip from Lagos to China in 2007.
