Patience Jonathan’s sister appeals final forfeiture order on $8.4m, N9.2bn

Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan’s younger sister, Esther Oba, have filed a notice of appeal against the judgment of a Federal High Court, Lagos, granting final order of forfeiture of the sum of  $8.4 million and N9.2 billion, which parts belongs to her. The court presided by Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, had on Monday, ordered that the said sums be finally forfeited to the Federal government of Nigeria, for been proceeds of unlawful activities. Patience Jonathan, others beg Court to unfreeze million-dollars account

The former First lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, on Monday October 29, begged a Federal High Court, Lagos, to unfreeze her accounts housing $8.4m and N7.4 billion. The former first lady through her lawyers today, argued passionately to Justice Mojisola Olatoregun who presided over the court, while the accounts must be unfreeze. It would be recalled that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on April 20, through an exparte application, obtained an interim forfeiture of the said monies.
