…Says he’s not their member
Leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign
State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has disociated the group from the director of the pirate Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security, DSS on Monday.
Speaking through his assistant director of information, Mr Sunday Okereafor, Uwazuruike said Kanu is a rebel who had long been expelled by MASSOB for inciting violence among members.
According to him, Kanu had been summarily dismissed for breaking the group’s non-violence approach.
The MASSOB leader insisted that Kanu’s arrest has nothing to do with the struggle for a sovereign state of Biafra.
Dismissing the allegation that MASSOB was behind the arrest of Kanu, Uwazurike stated that the
movement does not meddle into unnecessary matters.
