Winter storm: Arik Air reschedules cancelled New York flight to sunday
The management of Arik Air has announced the cancillation of its New York flight on Friday 22nd January as a result of weather advice received from JFK International Airport New York.
The airline said the York flight has been rescheduled tentatively to 11:30pm (local time) on Sunday 24th January, 2016.
Arik Air explained that the 48-hour postponement is intended to allow the dangerous winter storm (Jonas) and snow condition to clear before the flight’s entry into the United States airspace.
A statement signed by Arik Air’s Spokesman, Adebanji Ola stated that: “Arik Air regrets the inconvenience caused by this postponement which is highly regretted, but the safety of passengers is of upper-most importance to the airline.
We would update passengers and confirm our next flight by 6pm Saturday, 23rd January, 2016.”
