NANTA honours Arik Air with platinum award as most supportive domestic Airline
.. Says AMCON intervention truly saved Arik from total collapse
National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) has honoured Arik Air with the award of the most supportive domestic Airline in the country at its Annual General Meeting, AGM in Port Harcourt.
The airline was awarded the NANTA platinum award as the most supportive domestic Airline for their continuous support and commitment to the Nigerian market
Speaking during the dinner night sponsored by the airline in Port -Harcourt at the just concluded AGM of the Association, the regional sales manager of Arik Air, Mr. Sylvester Egogo said that the intervention of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON truly saved the airline from total collapse.
Egogo said the airline was on the verge of collapse with mounting debt, insurance and few serviceable aircraft.
He said today, with the support of AMCON and the determination of the managing director , Captain Roy Ilegbodu, the airline now has 14 aircraft flying with more to be added.
Egogo said the airline is gradually going back to those routes it abandoned before now and it is gradually re-establishing itself.
At the dinner, the airline gave out two tickets to two lucky winners that answered correctly questions concerning the airline and their operations.
Other corporate organisations honoured include, Ethiopian Airlines as the most Supportive International Airline, Air Peace in the golden category as most supportive airline, Med-View Airline in the silver category as the most supportive airline, South African Tourism as best supportive trade trade association, best supportive trade partner in platinum category went to Amadeus while best supportive trade partner in gold went to Galileo.
