Covid 19 pandemic: FG announces restriction of all international flights into Nigeria
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has announced the restriction of all international flights into the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from Monday 23rd March at 23007 to 23rd April 2020 at 2300Z.
In a statement signed by the director general of NCAA, Capt. Musa Nuhu, disclosed that emergency and essential flights are exempted from the restriction.
The DG in the restriction letter sent to all foreign airline operators in the country including the airline’s country’s managers titled update on clarification of flight restriction into Nigeria due to Covid 19 pandemic, said the restriction is in addition to the closure of the Mallam Aminu Kano Airport, Kano, Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu and Port- Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa on Saturday March 21.
Capt Nuhu stated further that domestic airlines will continue their normal operations at all airports across the country.
He said all airlines are required to submit passengers manifest to port health authorities prior to arrival of flights into Nigeria.
