AIB-N begins investigation into Overland Airways serious incident
Accident Investigation Bureau Nigeria,
AIB-N has commenced investigation into the serious incident involving an Overland Aircraft on Wednesday June 15, 2022.
The AIB-N explained in a statement signed by the general manager public Affairs of AIB-N, Mr Tunji Oketunbi that its investigators were dispatched to conduct investigation into the occurrence.
The incident involving Overland Airways aircraft ATR42, with Registration Marks 5N-BRQ on flight OLA1188 from Ilorin to Lagos occurred on Runway 18R, Murtala Muhammad International Airport around 18:40 on 15 June.
The Airline had earlier explained that the aircraft experienced an unusual high turbine temperature on one of its engines around 7:50pm which occurred in the approach phase of flight but the aircraft landed safely as the Crew skillfully implemented their standard procedures for such abnormal situations.
Overland stated that all the 33 passengers remained calm through the process and safely disembarked row by row in accordance with post COVID-19 procedures after the Aircraft came to a halt on the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos runway 18 Right.
